Bio: In his 12+ years of dedication and hard work, Christopher Richardson, better known as Superstar Kay, has become an idol and noble figure in the world of music production. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he originally derived inspiration for creating music in mid 2000's after years of watching his brother in the studio. He fought through years of hard work, sweat and hardships only to come out on top, despite the doubts from outsiders who always prey on success. Superstar Kay has produced over 5000 beats to date and continues to create art in all genres of music. Rock, Gospel, Pop, Rap, RnB, UK Pop, Dance, And House are only the tip of the iceberg when compared to all of his accomplishments. He's never been afraid to venture into new styles or unfamiliar territory and has stayed up many a nights working on perfecting his craft. SuperStar suffered a traumatic set back in 2001 when he lost his closest friend Jae in a terrible accident. Jae paved the path to Superstar Kay's success when he taught him all about production and shared his love for music. Following in his brother's footsteps, Kay refused to give up and fought through his loss in hopes of accomplishing something that he knew Jae could be proud of. That dream came to color when the world was introduced to the unique style and sounds of Superstar Kay, founder of Khyng-Jayden Productions who continues to sell and lease custom beats every day. Khyng-Jayden Productions was launched in 2001, when his passion and love for music was made public. He aims to deliver only the highest quality of beats that portrays everything that's real and inspirational. The traits put into his music are much like the characteristics he possesses. Everyone who knows and loves SuperStar says he's a reliable, sometimes sarcastic, down-to-earth guy who loves with all he has. Superstar Kay means dedication, motivation, passion, talent, hard work, realism, love and ultimately success. SuperStar, 23, currently resides in Cleveland where he continues to produce musical masterpieces as well as supporting and caring for his two sons and family.

1.WHERE DO YOU SEE HIP HOP/RAP AS A WHOLE RIGHT NOW?
A.) Hip-Hop is entering a new era. That crazy one area dominating the game thing is just about over. People are emerging from all over & doing very well. You've got a lot of good artists with solid production all putting out music at once. It's becoming competitive. So,... It's the start of something new. If only fans would stop downloading & start supporting again. The game would really be at something solid.
2.) DO YOU WANT A RECORD DEAL OR DISTRIBUTION DEAL AND WHY?
No, I can't currently say that I do. A deal wouldn't do me any favors. We go out daily & promote ourselves. We connect with the people that we're trying to sell our music to. Connecting & building with them so we know our fans. Thanks to social networking everything that a label can offer, you can do yourself. You don't get the same advances but you'll get it back once you've worked hard enough. Hard work pays off & without a deal, it's all profit from what you've invested & then some. Plus, without the deal you've got more control over what is given to the public.
3.) WHO DO YOU WANT TO WORK WITH?
Artists I'd like to work with are Ryan Leslie, Young Jeezy, Roscoe Dash, Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent & MGK (Especially with us both being from Cleveland, Oh.) They're some of the people in the game that I respect & I'd like to see what it's like to make a hit with them. Each of them bring different energies on their tracks so I'm sure it's like that in the studio. With me being a producer, My energies change often so I could adapt to any of those styles.
4.) WHAT WOULD YOU TELL A YOUNG EMCEE COMING UP IN THIS GAME?
Anyone in this game that's coming up, I'd tell the same thing.

If you're going through hell, keep going. Eventually, It'll get better. It's hard to believe when you're first starting off, or even in the middle but the best stories are more than one page.
5.) WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A EMCEE?
An emcee to me, has lyrics. There's no other way to define that. Not punchlines but lyrics with meaning. Nas type. Emcees rarely have HIT records but always have REAL records.

SuperStar Kay came from my status in my production. Like, Other producers have always had a few hundred beats under em', while I've had thousands. Friends always said I'd be a star in my work & I took that & amplified it to better match my status in what I bring forth.
